Parse YAML into explicit JSON values
Converting YAML to JSON removes presentation features such as comments and anchors while preserving the resolved data. The result is useful for APIs and tools that require JSON syntax.
Example input
service: api ports: [8080, 8081] enabled: true
Expected output
{
"service": "api",
"ports": [8080, 8081],
"enabled": true
}Behavior
- Resolves YAML mappings, sequences, and scalar values.
- Outputs strict JSON with double-quoted keys and strings.
- Reports indentation and syntax failures from the YAML parser.
Limits and edge cases
- Comments and formatting style do not exist in JSON.
- Aliases are resolved into values rather than retained as references.
- Custom YAML tags may not have a meaningful JSON representation.
Processing note: tool input stays in the browser. Readme.now analytics records page usage, not the payload you paste or the generated output.
